美国红会Holland实验室成立25周年，朱主任致信祝贺

    上个月，美国红十字会Jerome H. Holland实验室喜迎25周年生日，上海市血液中心朱永明主任为此写信给美国红十字会负责科研和发展事务的副会长Roger Dodd博士表示热烈祝贺，Dodd博士回信表示感谢。
    朱主任的贺信写道，周年生日是一个回顾成长历程和荣耀的机会，Holland实验室就25年来所取得之辉煌成绩当之无愧！在此无需我来赘述，您比我更了解您与您的同事们为保障血液安全所作出的杰出贡献，特别是几乎消除了在输血传染病方面的风险。科学无疆界，贵实验室所做贡献不仅保障了美国的血液安全，而且同样有助于世界其他国家和地方，当然中国也不例外。为此我要向您表达最诚挚的感谢！周年生日还提醒我们前路还有新的征程和责任。让我们携手共同挽救更多的生命！期待下一个25年的成功与辉煌！
    Dodd博士在回信中说，在我职业生涯中最有价值的事情之一是有机会认识众多来自不同国家的朋友并从中受益，尤其是要向您表示感谢。期待今后有更多的交流。 
    美国红会Holland实验室成立于1987年，目前设有输血传染病、血浆蛋白等研究室，是红会内部唯一开展保障血液安全、研究更合理的血液采集、制备、保存和运输方法和流程的科研机构。多年来其主要成就包括：1）评价AIDS、肝炎等输血传染病血液筛查策略，包括参与HIV病毒窗口期研究，开展病毒核酸检测必要性研究，开展输血风险评估研究；2）领导研究预防输血感染西尼罗河等病毒（一种在北美等地区可引起输血传染病病毒）检测方法；3）与美国红会血液部门协作提高献血者和受血者安全，包括研究降低输血相关性急性肺损伤（TRALI）的方法。其研究成果不仅在美国应用，而且还推广至世界其他国家。 
    Holland实验室是我国采供血业务和科研人员到美国学习进修的首选地之一，为中国的输血传染病风险评估、输血传染病检测策略制定等工作作出重要的示范、推进工作。

    Dear Roger, 
    I learned from AABB weekly report that the Holland Laboratory is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. On behalf of SBC and all the colleagues in China who have been benefited by learning from and collaborating with the Holland Laboratory, I am writing to deliver my warmest congratulations.
    Anniversaries often bring opportunities to look back on the paths gown through and the glories on the way. The Holland Laboratory is well deserved for that. Needless for me to say, you know more precisely what you and your fellow workers have contributed to the enhancement of blood safety, especially eliminating (almost!) the transfusion transmissible infectious. I just want to add one thing--there is no boundary to your contributions, it is not only for US donors and patients, but internationally as well. China is not an exception. We want to thank you for that.
    Anniversary is also a reminder of the journeys and responsibilities ahead, and our earnest expectations on you. Together we will save more lives.
    Again congratulations and best wishes for another twenty five years of success!
